Please read these terms carefully. They explain the rules for using thecrochetside.com and its patterns, tutorials and other content.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using thecrochetside.com (the “Site”), operated by The Crochet Side (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Using the website

You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • copy, scrape or republish our content in bulk, including by automated tools or AI training crawlers, without written permission;
  • use the Site in any way that is unlawful, harmful or that disrupts its operation or security;
  • click on advertisements artificially, or encourage others to do so;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its systems.

Trademarks and product names of yarn brands and other third parties belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.

4. Using our patterns

You may

Make items from our patterns for yourself, as gifts or for charity; sell small quantities of finished, handmade items, crediting The Crochet Side as the designer; print one copy of a pattern for your own use.

You may not

Sell, share, translate or republish the written pattern, charts or photos; distribute our patterns as PDFs; claim a design as your own; mass-produce items from our patterns.

5. Sharing and linking

We love it when you share our work. You may share one photo from a post together with a clear credit and a direct link to the original page, and you may pin our images to Pinterest using the Save button. Please do not copy the written instructions or post them elsewhere.

6. Comments and submissions

When you post a comment or send us a photo of your finished project, you confirm that the content is your own and does not break any law or infringe anyone’s rights. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the Site and, with credit, on our social media. We may moderate, edit for length or remove any comment, including spam, promotional links, offensive language or personal attacks.

7. Advertising and affiliate links

The Site is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense, and may contain affiliate links. If you buy through an affiliate link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Advertisers do not influence our editorial content. We are not responsible for products or services offered in ads, and any purchase is solely between you and the seller.

The Site may link to other websites, such as yarn shops or video platforms. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies or practices. Visiting them is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimers

We carefully test our patterns, but crochet results vary with yarn, hook, tension and experience. All content is provided “as is” and “as available”, for general information and inspiration. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about its accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. Yarn amounts, sizes and measurements are approximate.

10. Safety notice

Items made for babies, young children or pets, such as toys, amigurumi and blankets, must be used with care. Use safety eyes suitable for the age of the child, or embroider features instead, secure all parts firmly and inspect items regularly. Never leave small children or pets unsupervised with handmade items that could become a choking or strangulation hazard.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Crochet Side will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of materials, time, data or profits, arising from your use of the Site or of any pattern or information on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold The Crochet Side harmless from any claims, losses or expenses arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Site or its content.

13. Changes and termination

We may update these terms, or change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site, at any time. The “Effective date” above shows the latest version. Continuing to use the Site after changes means you accept the updated terms. We may restrict access for anyone who breaches them.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the place where the Site’s owner is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of the country where you live. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
